Ductless HVAC Systems Also Need Routine Maintenance
According to the Department of Energy, ductless HVAC systems offer an energy-efficient, flexible, and convenient way to heat and cool your Denver, NC home. These systems differ from conventional heating and cooling in that no ducts or vents are required in any of your rooms. However, like other types of HVAC equipment, they do require routine maintenance in order to work effectively and keep your heating and cooling costs low.
Keep Coils Clean
The outdoor unit of ductless HVAC systems contains the condenser coils. These coils circulate the refrigerant and allow heat energy to be exchanged between your home and the outdoor air. Each indoor unit contains an evaporator coil. If any of the coils get dirty, it can’t do its job. Routine maintenance of ductless HVAC systems includes coil cleaning and sanitizing of the condenser unit’s housing.
Maintain Conduit, Cables, and Drain Lines
Each indoor unit connects to a conduit. Inside the conduit are refrigerant tubes, a drain line, and a power cable. Our routine maintenance services include checking the conduit for corrosion and damage. We also inspect the interior of the conduit and check the tubing, cables, and drain for cracks, leaks, and other issues. Our technicians verify the refrigerant and pressure levels to ensure the safe and effective operation of the HVAC system.
Clean Filter, Blower, and Fans
The indoor units each contain a blower, fan, and filter. We check and clean or replace the filter, which promotes better air quality and more efficient heating and cooling. Over time, the blowers accumulate a layer of dust and debris, which leads to friction. Increased friction causes excess wear and tear on the motor and fan. We clean all of these moving parts. Keeping these parts clean extends their lifespans and lessens the risk of a malfunction.
